Lesser Quantum Tunneling Exploit #12

So, with Magiclysm, one can use Technomnacy's Lesser Quantum Tunnel spell. It's intended to be a strictly worse version of the CBM, but it's still sufficient to bypass the 'solid air' preventing you from simply walking off - and with the right preparations, survive.

Desc

Barely. However, it's still enough to allow a no-timer raid Earthside on a pre-scouted area thanks to the map reveal from altitude, and there are many methods of accelerated healing, ranging from mutations, CBMs to Magiclysm spells. Returning to the island is handled by the spell, as there is no Return Obelisk.

Still, IMO this issue can be solved fairly easily by either increasing altitude to make surviving the drop less feasible and/or increasing the thickess of 'solid air' from one tile to several.

Or you can just use the debug menu and teleport out of the island. 😄

Grnkchi commented 1 year ago

By that same logic there's no reason to ever leave the island, because you can spawn in anything you could ever need with the debug menu.

Because there's a difference between Debug that your average player doesn't use, and core content packaged with the game itself (Magiclysm) that can be used to completely circumvent important aspects of the mod (The raid timer and unknown terrain) with a modicum of effort and luck.

I've tried to idiot-proof this mod as best I can, but frankly, if a player wants to screw themselves over that badly, I'm basically just going to let them. There's no point in trying to catch every single way a player might squirm out of the premise for no reason except to do it.

Doesn't it drop you in a big pit, too?

It didn't during the test. I landed two tiles away from the cliff, landing in a field.
