This issue will be used to document data gaps, and to assist with providing the state of CO (first draft due 3/11):

Climate Ready Trees List
Canopy Cover Maps
Canopy Cover Targets (what provides acceptable level of ecosystem services?). Can vary by scale: for example "20% city-wide with no council district with less than 12%.
Urban Canopy Cover Projections (incorporating climate change and insects/disease)

For (1) thinning / partial cuts, (2) understory treatments; (3) clearcuts; and (4) prescribed burns”: – fraction / pct of understory biomass converted to slash – fraction / pct of slash: (a) burned; (b) converted to energy; (c) utilized for wood produects; (d) left to decay
For prescribed burns: – amount of C released to atmosphere from (a) soil organic carbon; (b) roots; (c) snags

Measurements of total aboveground biomass in herbaceous plants including grasses and other nonwoody plants (especially in shrubland, grassland, and sparsely vegetated cover types)

Annual C flux sampled across: (a) agricultural cover types; (b) developed areas; (c) herbaceous wetlands; (d) sparsely vegetated cover types

Estimates in non-USFS land of annual areas receiving the following treatments: (a) prescribed burns; (b) thinning / partial cuts; (c) reforestation; (d) clearcuts; (e) understory treatments
