Open Tempura-Person opened 1 year ago

The User Guide claims that there is the following sample data upon startup:

However, when first running the product, only the following sample data are available:

There are no sample entries in the meet-up recommendation panel, nor the scheduled meet-up panel.

Their Response to the 'Original' Bug

[This is the team's response to the above 'original' bug]

Thank you for your feedback; however, we believe that this is not a Documentation Bug but rather a misunderstanding of our user guide.

Please note that we mention that the start-up GUI should resemble the screenshot given (see image below). Given that you are a new user, it does not make sense to initialise the application with meet up recommendations and organised meet ups, hence why your UI looks different. The main purpose of the initial screenshot is to showcase the different UI components of EduMate. As such, this is intended behaviour:

 Issue duplicate status

Team chose to mark this issue as a duplicate of another issue (as explained in the Team's response above)

Reason for disagreement: [replace this with your explanation]

## Issue response Team chose [`response.Rejected`] - [x] I disagree **Reason for disagreement:** Even with the use of the word 'resemble', this is still highly misleading to the users. New users would follow the Quick Start Guide and still be confused at the lack of recommendations and meet ups. The provided UI in the documentation resembles the actual UI only in passing, as it does not contain the recommendations and meet ups. If it "it does not make sense to initialise the application with meet up recommendations and organised meet ups" for new users, why are there still sample contacts of people that I do not personally know? As this would be highly confusing to new users, it would deserve a Low severity at least.
## Issue type Team chose [`type.DocumentationBug`] Originally [`type.FunctionalityBug`] - [ ] I disagree **Reason for disagreement:** [replace this with your explanation]
