I use an ultrawide monitor (5120 x 1440) and same here no matter what setting the screen setting is on Zoom, Stretch, Centre the result is the same. This was issue was fixed previously if i remember. If the games could be run in a window it could resolve this problem for wide monitors, i usually run in a window or fullscreen windowed mode, and resolution modes are going to be needed for vr anyway.
From Steve: ultrawide are becoming more prevalent now so i suppose its good to cater for it now. The only problem with the story board on wide monitors and has been reported on GitHub is the wasted screen space due to the header bar taking up 30% of the screen height (see image), but i suppose that will be addressed eventually or maybe could be made to activate to scale down the header bar to half its height or something when that globalhudscale=100 is used for wide/ultrawide screens.
