I had not noticed this before today, but it appears that once your inventory is 76/80 you will start getting the "You don't have enough inventory space to carry the samples you found message." I should have been able to collect atleast 4 more samples, and that current sample is lost.

What distance were you when sampling, in the screenshot it is showing you 23m which is too far to sample, was mittens moving while you were sampling,

Actually you can sample mittens starting at 16m, but after it starts taking dna you can walk out up to 24m before it breaks and say you're to far away. (I'm not sure if this holds true to other creatures or not, but I'm glad that its there as these little guys can two shot you in armor. However, I if you note my bags full of dna, so I do have some clue as to distance, I also replicated this at 16m, this just happened to be the screenshot I took.

Hmm something else beside just 76-80 inventory used.

I have gather 50+ with 76-80 inventory. (I gathered until inventory was 76 then started: Gather until got error message (no room). Checked inventory was at 80. Moved 4 DNA into backpack. and repeated. The only time I ever got the bag full, message was at 80 inventory.) all the way up until I had 50 in my backpack.

For second time testing. I purposely kept track, and repeated the above, but if inventory was 80, would move 4 DNA into backpack, so that I was always between 76-79 when sampling. This second trip I sampled 78 times (while inventory was 76-79) and never got an error message/lost a sample.

So its not 'purely' sampling, something else is triggering the issue/problem.

Now have to say I am always stationary while sampling and sample from 15m away. Not worried about being one shotted (my BE doesn't wear armor), since they have to be 10m to attack... so you have 1-2seconds to 'move away' before they are in attack range..

One thing I notice you are doing that I am not, can you try be solo not grouped when going sampling. (wondering if somebody else is looting, and it 'reserves' a spot in your inventory or something before seeing you don't actually get anything)

Other thing are you doing anything else (re-arranging stuff in backpack, etc) while 'sampling' I have lost samples when sampling from a deed (in my house), if also re-arranging inventory while waiting for the sample to be done/appear (can't remember for sure if I got the 'full invenotyr' or just never appears was 'lost' but I purposely now do not do anything with bags/inventory while waiting for the sample to appear.
