Wireless keyboard turning screen back on? #40

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Reproduce:
1. Lock computer using Win+L or start menu
2. Wait a few seconds
3. Screen turns off, but on again after a few seconds

I expected the screen to stay off, but I think my new wireless keyboard
(microsoft arc keyboard) is sending some keystroke or something.

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate with Monitores 1.0.1b Lite. I have isolated the
problem to the keyboard, and definitely not the mouse. Turning off the keyboard
every time I lock Windows would be inconvenient and therefore not a great
solution.

Anyone with advise or suggestions please help.

Can you try this version ?

http://code.google.com/p/monitores/downloads/detail?name=MonitorES.zip&can=1

This has the feature which will turn off monitor until you press right hotkey
to turnon again(CAREFUL, you need to set the turnon hotkey and remember it!)

That's an ugly fix I did for some of my friends. Meanwhile I'll try to find a
way to resolve this issue.

Great, this experimental version will not wake my screen randomly! Thanks a lot.
I should mention that I enabled screen on key but did not assign a binding. For
some reason this works, and only turns on the screen if I move the mouse or
press any button, which is the way it should work. I don't even have to press
the right hotkey to turn on again! :)
