In the Splitgate API when calling on the Weapons segment, the Possession Time for a weapon seems to be wildly inaccurate.
For example, my profile here:

The Assault Rifle has Possession Time of 157h 46m. The Battle Rifle has Possession time of 23h 52m. Etc. In comparison to that, I've only had 21 hours of playtime in the game, menus and all according to Steam.
This is the situation for all accounts I am looking.
