This would be nice to have, yes. I have asked the sysadmin to place your suggested file on our server if he thinks that's a good idea. I don't have access to the production server, and I can't oversee what security or performance implications this might have, but we are investigating.

In order for Adobe Flash-based web applications to be able to use the PhyloWS API, there needs to be a permissions file at <http://treebase.org/crossdomain.xml>. See, for example, <http://static.flickr.com/crossdomain.xml>.

Attahced is an example crossdomain.xml which would allow the fewest retrictions.
