There was a recall for the navigation SD cards. They’re unreliable (especially at “extreme” temps). And if they’re failing, it causes the infotainment to reboot.
AKA if you’re still experiencing this problem try removing the navigation SD card and see if it goes away.
I pulled out my SD card and everything seems to be working pretty well so far. Fingers crossed but you might've saved me $1000+ so thank you!
I had the same issue and fixed it by removing the nav card ~5months ago and haven't had a reboot since doing so.
I plan to reflash the nav SD card to see if I can put it back in without reboots, but I use Google Maps almost always so it's not a priority
I have a Mazda 3 and the head unit reboots intermittently - about 2x-4x per trip. I'm trying to decide between getting a new OEM one, getting an aftermarket unit off aliexpress, or installing this tweak list.
If I had to guess I would say the rebooting is probably a hardware issue on the car's side but figured I'd ask here just in case.
