Pinochle - Leading Opponents Trump Aces #45

The non-Declarer bots tend to lead opponents Trump Aces (and Ace/10's) when they have the lead. They should not do this because it helps the Declarer get the Trump out.

Thanks @RussCranberry! Are there certain conditions where you'd return to leading these (e.g. once partner is void in trump and you're not trying to save lower trump to trump in on an off-suit trick)?

Also, do you know if there are any good Pinochle references for play-of-the-hand strategy on defense we could look at? I ask because the more specific we can be about exactly what we want the bots to do instead the easier it is to fix them without breaking other cases.

Here is a Pinochle reference that's pretty good:

The only situations that I can think of where it makes sense to lead 0pponents Trump Ace or 10 are: 1 Your Trump suit is stronger than the opponents (this is rare). 2 If you have a singleton Trump Ace and are in the lead and the other Trump Ace has not been played, play the Trump Ace. 3 If you have a singleton Trump 10, you are in the lead, the other Trump 10 has not been played and both Trump Aces have been played, play the Trump 10.
