Safari and IE issue: Multi-line legend overlapping with top of chart #194

When legends are more than one line, this overlaps with the top of the chart, see example student-profiles 07_0030.json screen shot 2017-01-10 at 2 46 24 pm

I believe this was being caused by the error in #195 -- the error thrown there prevented the multi line legend code from executing. Should be closed by c20d5dc0ea991834277c5f0cceabd582089249b7

@vivhou please confirm in both browsers (I don't have Safari 7 access)
