In file Drew data/g/CELRL CT Water Quality Chemical Data 2012.xls; sheet "LRL SRR CT 93318" there are location values with to few characters to be interpreted as a district, lake and station. For example, 2SRRS300.

How should these be interpreted?

Thanks,

Matt

I will push the file "FY13WQSampleCollectionSiteLocations.xlsx" into our repository. It lists all the official site IDs along with their latitude and longitude. The file includes 191 unique station codes. All but two of the station codes (S300 and W7ST from the lake SRR) consist of 5 digits. For the sake of consistency, I think we should add one digit to the two anomalous codes. Perhaps append a '9' to the end of these two.

Matt and Jake agreed that using a 4 character site ID is preferable to adding an arbitrary character to achieve a 5 character id.
