Yazdeism

In the great age of upheaval, the once mighty Sasanian Empire was brought to its knees by the Muslim armies of the Rashidun Caliphs. The Prophet Yazdegerd, once the Shahanshah of many, was humbled by Ahura Mazda and given his true path. In his flight from the Arab armies, he arrived in Marw whose governor welcomed him with open arms. In his mortal weakness, the Prophet demanded gold from the marzban, who ejected the Prophet from his lands. Yazdegerd sought refuge in a local millers home, but in a desire for Yazdegerd's jewelry, the miller stabbed Yazdegerd and stole it; leaving him for dead. Left with nothing and dying, it was only then when Ahura Mazda blessed Yazdegerd with a vision.

On his throne, unmoving, was a six-meter tall blue bearded man with an eye on his forehead shining as bright as the sun. The figure gave Yazdegerd images of a new land, much south of Ērān, where his influence did not yet stretch to. The blue man promised Yazdegerd prosperity if he bowed to him, and became his servant revealing himself as no one other than the Ahura Mazda. The pact was made, and Yazdegerd revived once more by his grace traveled to Lemuria.

Religion Mechanics

Zephyrum commented 4 years ago

A few mechanical observations:

-Holy sites are moddable to the extent of making a new religion for them, but be aware AI nations can "bypass" locks in Holy Sites, aka, can get holy sites from other religions they don't belong to, which isn't too gamebreaking (it's just the AI, after all) -Religion modifiers by their own are probably the best in the game, whether this is too strong depends on the mechanics though
