Sorry about that, some of the dates for the lectures were erroneous in the original post reflecting the old meeting time of Wednesday and have been corrected to the appropriate date of Thursday on this posting.
Hello:
I would like to do any of the following-
Thanks,
Raul

We wouldn't be able to hold these weekly sessions without volunteers from the UofT Coders community, and we're always welcoming of any new volunteers who would like to teach or help in other ways. If you'd like to volunteer to instruct one of these sessions, please reply here or to uoftcoders@gmail.com with the following:
- Which session you'd like to teach
- If you're okay with the proposed date
- If not, what date you'd prefer to teach the lesson
I will get in contact with you thereafter to coordinate.
Note: You DO NOT need to be an expert in the lesson topic to teach! While some familiarity is required, if you'd like to use this as an opportunity to further your understanding of the topic, we highly encourage that as well!

@linamnt I could take a stab at Intro to Programming in R! That being said, would I be using the existing material, or would I have to put something together from scratch? (Totally okay with either!)
@aays You are totally welcome to use the existing material!
@linamnt I can take the intro to Python!
Thanks @aays! That's great, as Luke said feel free to use the existing material as is, or modified :)

Hi Raul, do you have a preference? Both are currently open, the intro to scikit learn has been taught before so there is preexisting material which you are welcome to use too!

Hello Lina,
I can do the - October 19 - Introduction to Machine Learning Concepts, am I free to use a little python or R and perhaps show a tool called Weka to show the algorithms I will talk about or do you prefer a code along session?
let me know
Raul

@ralle123 @linamnt - the October 19 Intro to Machine Learning can be more high-level, not necessarily a code along. We were thinking this session is more to 'explain the hype' - define some terms, show people what machine learning entails, that sort of thing.
The following week will be a code along for sure where people can get into it themselves.
I'd be interested in teaching the intro to NLP. I think Nov 2nd would be fine.
I can do the October 26 - Python's scikit-learn ML package, I would give an introduction on the 19th of ML and then implement examples with scikit-learn =). let me know
Hi @ralle123 we have someone for the Oct 26th lecture (@nsahin), so if you do the 19th ML Concepts, that would be great. If you'd both like to coordinate on what topics you'd cover, you could do that too.
Hi @ralle123,
If you would like to meet and discuss the topics we would like to cover, please email me at nil.sahin@mail.utoronto.camailto:nil.sahin@mail.utoronto.ca

Hi Everyone,
Thank so much to everyone who has volunteered so far to instruct. We have one last lecture to schedule in, "Interactive Plots and Graphics for the Web" which can cover D3, Plotly, Bokeh, Shiny or other interactive plotting languages or packages. It can focus on one or multiple of these depending on your preference.
Please email me at uoftcoders@gmail.com if you are able to teach this 1 hour lesson on November 30th.
Cheers, Lina
