6 years ago I took a look, we discussed it at the forum. It should merge cleanly, and if it does its job, I say we can have it (it doesn't seem to break existing stuff).

Everything appears to work on my end and I believe this is ready to merge. No changes are planned on the kernel code itself from here out, only some later modifications to the tools demos, though everything works as intended right now.
