Description

In DotA, there is no way to set items to autocast in order to instantly apply them to yourself, and not by double-tapping. This would be very handy for things like: shadow amulet, glimmer cape, eul's scepter of divinity, wind waker, mjollnir, lotus orb, holy locket, force staff, hurricane pike, ethereal blade, urn of shadows, spirit vessel, town portal scroll, bullwhip, book of shadows

Example Match ID (and possibly Timestamp)

There is a way (workaround?), @Yan00r : Go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Check the "Smart Double Tap" box. With this activated, whenever you hold ALT and press skill/item hotkey, it will attempt auto-cast. (This is also the only way to auto-cast while using quickcast.)

Not sure if that is what you meant, but removing the option to cast on allies or creating another hotkey for this specific function doesn't make sense for me.

flies away

The feature you recommended requires 2 buttons instead of 1 button. I mean, it's not what I need. I need the item to be immediately applied to the hero when pressing a specific key, if possible on that item

I just wanted to clarify something regarding the term "autocast." In Dota 2, autocast specifically refers to abilities that automatically trigger under certain conditions when enabled, like Huskar’s Burning Spear arrows, or BloodLust when its on cooldown.

For items, the current mechanic for self-casting via double-tap isn’t actually considered autocast. Autocast is reserved for abilities and doesn’t apply to item usage.

It seems like what you're suggesting is a quick self-cast option for items without needing a double-tap, which is a bit different from autocast.
