Tested and working fine, however, my first launch created a small window and wasn't able to fullscreen. Enabled widescreen in-game, relaunched, and everything played fine.

I confirm this game runs, had to do the same with widescreen, and reselect my resolution in the launcher, With my controller i can only walk, but this may be unrelated

Symptoms

Game renders to the top left corner of the screen, even in widescreen mode.

Also ran into the infamous gate bug during the intro tutorial (https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Manhunt#Crashing_on_modern_operating_systems_.2F_Gate_won.27t_open).

Using dgVoodoo renders the game in fullscreen properly.

Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this but am I the only one who has this game crash when loading? Sometimes at the end of a mission the game will crash (no error, just exit to desktop) and the same for loading in the menu.

It's not 100% of the time, but certainly happens quite often.

Again I'm sorry if this isn't the right place.

here is a small guide to get it to work on steam deck

Get the game to run on the steam deck and linux

install the game and download/extract and run the exe file found here https://github.com/ermaccer/Manhunt.Fixer

to fix the game, just don't select MHP (Recommended) option, the game will be very dark after it is installed.

just add (WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d8,ddraw=n,b" %command%) to the steam launch options and enjoy

Symptoms

Graphical issue when you look at light sources in-game, it reveals wireframes of the map, characters, objects.

Reproduction

Rotate ingame camera and look at to light sources. i.e: lamps.

Apparently the crashing issues that have been going on with this game seems to be related to anti piracy measures. Seems like the version on steam was originally a cracked copy, then rockstar swapped it out after being called out and forgot to remove the piracy protection on the new version.

Dunno why it's marked as deck playable tbh

According to steamdb, the game hasn't been updated in 9 years, so the game not running now sounds like a proton regression.
