[L4D2] Mods not working #1912

I have tried a whole bunch of different mods; install one, didn't work, uninstal, try a different one. I don't think they ever worked on my system, but I have not really tried installing any mods before I used ubuntu 14.10 as my current system. For some reason, the one map mod (yama) I installed manually works. Simple reskin mods are not working however, regardless if they are installed manually or through the workshop.

Here is the terminal output when I launch the game from steam. I have two mods installed for this test launch: "l4d_yama.vpk", and "luna medpit.vpk". Both show up in the add-ons list in-game. For this, I launch the game, get in a single player campaign, take 5 steps, and quit.
