SteamVR: SteamVR Will fail to save or return an error message if the user attempts to save a Control Scheme missing Required functions. #194

If the user attempts to save a custom controller mapping that is lacking any Required control functions, the 'Save' button will fail to adequately respond. The control scheme will not save, and the user will receive no error message or indication as to why. The user may press the 'save' button any number of times, and may close the save window manually, but no effect will occur.

SteamVR - RequiredFunction

Repro Steps:

  1. Launch SteamVR
  2. Open the SteamVR Overlay.
  3. Navigate to the 'Control Settings' section of the 'Settings' Tab.
  4. Select any title with required inputs (eg. Hot Dogs, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, Vinyl Reality)
  5. Modify the Control Settings to remove any required function.
  6. Attempt to save the control settings. Observe that the 'save' button does not respond to user input, and no error message appears to inform the user the attempt has failed.

Repro Rate: 5/5

Expected Result: Any failed interactions return an error message gracefully informing the user of the error that has occurred. Actual Result: The 'save' button fails to respond or notify the user of the error in any way.

Observed Configs: Observed on CPU: Ryzen 7 1700, Intel i5-7600K, Ryzen 7 2700 Observed on GPU: Radeon R9 Fury, Nvidia GTX 1070, Hnvidia GTX Titan X Observed on HMD: Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro

Build: SteamVR Beta Build: 1.6.7

Issue still occurs as written as of SteamVR Beta Version 1.7.15.
