CS:GO runs poorly on Linux #2079

Your system information

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

The game is supposed to run smoothly without stuttering and it generally does, but certain things, like opening the scoreboard with TAB, or shooting with a gun, or interacting with the Panorama UI, cause it to freeze for a split second, or temporarily drop the fps by a significant amount.

I have to point out, that I don't experience this behavior under Windows 10, but I do on all the Linux distros I have used so far, so this issue is not limited only to Manjaro.

I think that the Panorama UI is to blame for the poor performance, since that issue didn't exist with the Scaleform UI before.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Play a game or two on Windows 10 and test the performance, by shooting and checking your score in the scoreboard and interact with the Panorama UI.
  2. Notice there aren't any FPS drops or freezes when you do that.
  3. Do the same as in Step 1, but on Linux.
  4. Notice there are random FPS drops and freezes when you do the same.
