Joystick on full when centered

When the joysticks on my controller are centered they are always on max. E.g. when the left stick is centered I move forward and when I push the stick fully backwards I stand still. Setting +back allows the stick to function normally both forwards and backwards but this disables the "s" key for moving backwards and screws up ladders.

Also the controller is a Dualshock 3 connected via Bluetooth with sixad.

Also the game doesn't seem to recognize the L1, L2 and R2 buttons.

I had a similar experience when I turned on my "Saitek PLC Cyborg Graphite Stick" joystick with halflife 1 on Gentoo Linux 64-bit. The joystick is not really suitable for my play style anyway, so I did not make a bug report.

@LinAGKar I have to correct my comment from earlier:

In the Half-Life SDK repository the problem has been already fixed upon check-in it seems. Can you check if the problem still exists in the Half-Life Steam version, preferably also check DMC and Ricochet.

Well, the joysticks seems to work fine now when using xboxdrv. However I don't seem to be able to get the game to recognize the controller when using sixad.
