Steam Deck: Unable to quit sourcemods in gamepadui #8938

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Regression: On the latest Stable and Beta versions of the Steam client, the "Exit game" button no longer works for any sourcemod such as Half-Life 2: MMod or Underhell.

This was broken in the last 10 days or so, but so many updates have been pushed it's nearly impossible to determine which one broke this functionality.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Start any sourcemod and attempt to use the Exit game button. The button will say "Exiting game..." but nothing will ever happen. Even when exiting the game through normal means, (Quit game button ingame) it will not close. The user is forced to restart Steam to close the game.

Hello @TacoDeBoss, this issue is already being tracked at #8937. Closing as a duplicate.

Sure thing, though be advised I'm experiencing this issue exclusively for sourcemods, regular games (seemingly) work as expected.

Thanks for clarifying. Since there's a difference in behavior between your findings and #8937, it's probably better to track it separately and re-evaluate both if a fix for one happens.
