In multiplayer, lighting placed gunpowder crashes the game, but not the server.

When I place gunpowder on the ground, it functions fine, but when I try to light it, my game crashes, but the server stays up.

what version are you playing in? placeable gunpowder hasn't been a thing in quark since 1.12, if you're in modern version it's probably from supplementaries.
