I think the Holy Light Crusades should unlock around 10 years after Lordaeron falls (in lore, it's one of the most religious human nations), similar to the way they trigger once crucial points of Christian faith (Byzantium, France, Rome) are captured by infidels in vanilla.
The crusades should of course have the most weight in Lordaeron/Stratholme and once captured, Lordaeron becomes a crusader kingdom that immediately joins the Alliance/Horde if a beneficiary belongs to a state that is part of a political faction, or remains independent if the beneficiary hails from a neutral political entity or a holy order. Also, Holy Light crusades should only be limited agaisnt 'evil' religions such as Void, Legion and Death God and have a very large cooldown due to a low militancy of the religion in question, while Scarlet crusades can target any infidel and with a much smaller cooldown.
DO NOT REMOVE PRE-EXISTING LINES
Describe your suggestion in full detail below: In wow, the scarlet crusade tended to pledge themselves to military actions, under a "religious head" usually a dreadlord, and went on crusade on lands afar, building "crusader states" just like the scarlet onslaught in northrend. I understand that this seems to be a very big mechanic, but the advantages to this adition are as follows: -Gives a bigger separation beetwin the scarlet light and the holy light, being a lot more zealous and aggressive -Helps the few npcs that follow survive against the scourge, just like they did in wow by all joining whenever one was attacked -uses an underused mechanic and adds a lot of replayability to the game
