Clarification of flip command #8

Hi,

Just a quick check question: In your manual here (https://warrenlab.github.io/agptools/) you say that flip will reverse-complement a sequence in the scaffold to re-orient a misassembled piece.

But does it complement the sequence, or just reverse it?

Thanks, Jenni

It reverse-complements the sequence.

Thanks Edward. Why does it complement it and not just reverse the sequence? I'm just thinking about the impact of this on reading genes.

To reverse-complement a sequence is to both reverse and complement it
