Power-Up plan:

Our project aims to implement the projected variational quantum dynamics algorithm as recently described. Specifically, we will use this algorithm to compute the time-evolved wave function of an open-chain, coupled 3-spin system in a transverse uniform magnetic field. We will measure the performance of our implementation of this algorithm and compare this to the publish performance. In addition, we will attempt to discover ways to improve the fidelity and accuracy of our Pauli spin observables (total magnetization) of our system.

In the publication of this algorithm, the authors measured fidelity and magnetization in experiments that utilized up to 80,000 shots. In addition, these experiments were repeated 10 times to measure variance of their observed quantities. In order to obtain similar statistical significance, we would benefit greatly from power ups to allow us to run a larger number of experiments.
