Facebook Posts Not Using Image Uploaded in Wordpress #4197

Closed bcrocker84 closed 8 years ago

bcrocker84 commented 8 years ago

What did you expect to happen?

I expect the image I upload using the Facebook image uploader to be used on the Facebook post.

What happened instead?

A random image seems to be selected; either the featured image or one of the pics in the galleries I add in the post content.

How can we reproduce this behavior?

Use the Facebook image uploader a few times, while adding other pictures into the post, to see if it uses the specific image you selected.

Technical info

Could you please provide URL to a live page demonstrating the issue?

This is the blog post: http://www.babestation.tv/blog/sienna-day-babes-stuff-grooming/

The Facebook post in question is the last one on our page here: https://www.facebook.com/babestationtv/

As you can see, the image it has used is from the gallery inside the post content, whereas I actually uploaded a specific image to be used.

I see no OpenGraph markup output by our plugin (within This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin block if you look at page source). What you have is output elsewhere on page and (I assume) by some other extension.

You might want to check if you have Facebook functionality enabled in settings, but then you would need to get rid of the other output.

Facebook functionality has been working without issue for months. The issue here is that it's not using the correct image in my Facebook posts.

Here is what our plugin outputs on your page:

<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v3.1.1 - https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/ -->
<meta name="description" content="Sienna Day heads into the barber shop for &#039;Babes Do Stuff&#039; and shows us all how to style a Pompadour hair cut. In her underwear of course! See pics here."/>
<meta name="robots" content="noodp"/>
<link rel="canonical" href="http://www.babestation.tv/blog/sienna-day-babes-stuff-grooming/" />
<!-- / Yoast SEO plugin. -->

There is no Facebook data coming from our plugin, it is implemented by something else in your site.
