Should a whois command be added? #198

If yes, the results may be too large. So how should the results be sent?

Some possibilities could be a long code block, extract just the vital information, or it could simply just send a link to a whois service.

Will it be a success on the scale of /domain?

shea-sollars commented 10 years ago

probably about the same

It's sort of like /google. It isn't really useful, we just use it more or less to point out how easily a problem was solved.

Now for Whois I don't see any benefit to this. And when will the room collectively want to be informed on the info behind a domain? Plus how do you determine which information from Whois services is actually useful? I think it'd be easier for the user to just open a new tab and search for a Whois service.

If this was just going to return a Whois link, well '!!google whois sollars.com' and you'll end up with multiple links. But if you want it I say go for it.

IMO on the scale of things to do - there is more important work like getting mute to gallery the room etc.
