MKV files not supported #155

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
When I click on MKV files, Firefox does not open them in gecko-media player but
only offers to download them.

I'm using gecko-mediaplayer 1.0.4 and Firefox 6.0 on Gentoo Linux AMD64.

What is the mimetype of these files that you are downloading? To find it out
you can use wget on the url that points to the file and it should tell you.

Ah, you're right. It's "text/plain". The server's /etc/mime.types had this:

video/x-matroska mpv

Which is a typo and should be "mkv" instead. Sorry for the noise. Please close
this bug.
