Can't download ActivityNet videos due to XXX #57

Please reply to this issue if you met any problem downloading the videos ;)

Fill the form (https://forms.gle/aMywVrNxAvXffm9H7) seriously to download the videos from Google Drive or Baidu Yun.

  1. If the BaiduYun link expired, please directly reply to the email you received.
  2. If you submit the form but get no response more than 24 hours, please email me, or reply to this issue.

Update July 02, 2022 The permission controller was not working in the past two weeks. The issue is because an update in Google Drive API caused a fatal error in the pipeline. The issue has been solved and old requests should have been processed.

FQA

  1. google drive doesn't work due to "download quota exceeded at this time" This is because multiple users are downloading the dataset. Typically you can try it again on a different day.
  2. I got no response after submitting the form / sending email / posting on this issue, but this is urgent! Please have URGENT in the email title. This can increase the priority to get your request processed.
  3. How can I extend my permission? When your permission gets expired, please fill out the form again to get access to the dataset.
  4. How can I download the whole dataset on Terminal? Please check the tool gdrive.

Dear @Frostinassiky @activitynet , thanks again for sharing the dataset! i want to confirm with ActivityNet official that: can I freely distribute the data you provided to me earlier to other people who need it? Or if I need to finish something before I can share it, if it's not troublesome, I will do those things as you said.

Because some people are asking me for this data and we have all noticed that for some reasons, such as the network environment, it is very troublesome for other people to obtain this data in China.

I am uploading the feature to Baidu Pan, which is very slow. Better raise a new issue to talk about the feature.

You will receive the BaiduYun link automatically once you filled the form seriously.

Hi @frostinassiky , Thank you very much for your sharing. After I downloaded the ActivityNet data set, I found that the names of the compressed files all ended with a suffix in the format of ".gz_ae, .gz_ag, .taraa, .tarag", etc. How should these compressed files be decompressed?

Hi @frostinassiky , Thank you very much for your sharing. I have filled the form and get the BaiduYun link of the videos, but the link was expired on July 27th. Therefore, i can't get the data because i don't use google drive. Can you share the new BaiduYun link to my email(18210240219@fudan.edu.cn) Thanks!

@liuswot Good question.

Due to the file size limitation from Baidu Yunpan, we split everything by 4GB pieces.

To restore the original .tar file, do cat [SUBSET_NAME].tar* > Anet_[SUBSET_NAME].tar

where [SUBSET_NAME] can be

I get more details in the readme file in the shared folder.

Hello, I am facing two issues currently. One: I am getting an error with the json.dumps line in download.py the errors says that "TypeError: Object of type bytes is not JSON serializable”. This error was in the section for creating the download report. I commented out this section and the program ran.

I was very happy until I realized that the files that were downloaded were just audio files. The corresponding video was not downloaded. I am unsure of the reason. It is in the .mp4 format.

This was all done on the Kinetics data set. Please let me know if you have faced the issue and have figured out the reason behind the error.

I remember there is a readme.txt file in the BaiduYun link which shows the decompression method, but I forget to download this readme.txt. Unfortunately, my BaiduYun link has expired.
