voicetrading not working (betamax)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Just try to send a msg 
2. Try to get a balance update 
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
1) hoped to rcv a text msg on my GSM, nothing ever happened 
2) the balance kept blank and the "status wheel" kept on turning/running 

What version of the product are you using? "Last" is not appropriate. Make
sure you tell at least which app you are using. On what operating system?
Latest version out of play store on July 8 of websms & betamax connector. 
I'm running android 4.1.2 on my Asus fonepad (phablet with intel atom Soc)

Please provide any additional information below.
all other voip apps work fine, there is. No blocking of servers or something 
like that...

I exactly have the same problem on gingerbread (Android 2.3.7) using the o2 
connector, if I'm trying to send an sms or updating the balance. Mostly nothing 
happens when sending an sms or updating the balance. The status wheel keeps on 
turning for over 10 minutes. No error message, nothing happens. Really 
annoying... This problem persists since 2 or 3 weeks. If I'm deactivating SSL 
the thing works better and SMS will mostly be sent.

I haven't tried disabling SSL yet. I don't know if voicetrading would www even 
work without it.

I also use quite a lot ofpublic hotspots and there I don't want to work without 
SSL as you never know who else is on that network and what he's doing there.
