[Update] PotatoBoard on hold #12

PotatoBoard has been placed on indefinite hold. Year 11 is too busy and the integration of different platforms will require quite a bit of time to figure out.

The latest incomplete code will be committed now.

Currently, the TYSK workflow is stable enough that the cost/benefit between PB and manual entry is low.

Agree - I like the cool Django framework

I could try making a TYSK potato board equivalent...it would be running on PowerApps though (not in TYSK app, but a seperate app)

Anyway, great work! Thanks for exploring this though

Essentially the seperate app would not be able to post directly into other platforms, but would instead automate the formatting - so all you would have to do is copy and paste (or screenshot) the output to other platforms

I can still take a look at PotatoBoard maybe depending on whether I have time (COVID-19 lockdown will provide much of that lol) but I'll take a look at it.

Lol it might be able to do twitter but TYSK doesn't have a twitter account (lol I don't think we need it - 4 platforms are enough! 😂)

PDFs would be great esp. if loaded from an external CDN. Could you do the same with uploaded images? you know I like my screenies

SSO is based off a Microsoft Azure AD but instead of using a school SSO I would use Google OAuth2 to ensure that we maintain control over callbacks. Then you can use a ?hd=potato-public.nsw.edu.au sort of URL query to restrict it to our school accounts only (ideally you'd also implement server-side checks like I've done in PotatoBoard, making sure it's only school Google accounts that can grab onto the thing)

also, I'm actually an underworld black market anime distributor and there's a lot of people out to dox me, so make sure you're careful about posting personal info on public GitHub issue kudasai~ 👍

Rebranding could be good - i think we looked into it a while ago - but I think TYSK App is more descriptive than TYSK Student (a bit vague) and also it's just been around for a while. Not sure if it's necessary but not against it either.

Interesting ideas - I'm not sure I'd be able to implement them due to the platform's limitations...sounds like a custom connector

My only reasoning is that TYSK App's name is slightly misleading; it implies you have to download an app to use it when it is actually a web app (to users).
