DAO: determine meta-gauge feasibility #20

Open thetechnocratic opened 2 years ago

thetechnocratic commented 2 years ago

we should do a research spike to determine the feasability and requirements for implementing meta-gauges. the full list of meta-gauges we would want to initially support is the following:

for each asset & gauge ecosystem, we want to answer the following questions:

  1. is gauge voting done on-chain?
  2. if voting is not done on-chain (ex. Snapshot), can we delegate votes to an EOA?
  3. what is the epoch length for the gauges?
  4. do the gauges support bribing?

curve (veCRV)

  1. on-chain (https://etherscan.io/address/0x2F50D538606Fa9EDD2B11E2446BEb18C9D5846bB)
  2. no delegating veCRV voting power
  3. epoch is one week
  4. yes: ex: votium (https://votium.app/curve)

convex (vlCVX)

  1. snapshot voting
  2. snapshot voting and delegation (ex: votium)
  3. bi-weekly, on Thursday 00:00 UTC until Tuesday 00:00 UTC
  4. yes: ex: votium (https://votium.app/)

stakedao (veSDT)

  1. on chain (https://etherscan.io/address/0x75f8f7fa4b6DA6De9F4fE972c811b778cefce882)
  2. no delegating - modeled after veCRV
  3. 10 day epochs
  4. bribing not supported out of the box but could be implemented

tokemak (TOKE)

  1. on chain (https://polygonscan.com/address/0x7A9A3395afB32F923a142dBC56467Ae5675Ce5ec) (polygon) & ethereum (https://etherscan.io/address/0x43094eD6D6d214e43C31C38dA91231D2296Ca511)
  2. no delegating out of the box. Can be built (ex: compound toke rewards (https://github.com/automata-labs/recycler)
  3. weekly cycles
  4. bribes are supported as voting is done in accordance with bribes
