Reload_XMB.pkg / Black Screen #309

After installing Reload_XMB.pkg and selecting the "Reload XMB" option in the webMAN menu, the screen gets stuck at the black screen. The only way to return to XMB is then manually holding the power button.

Please check if you have the icon ★ /app_home/PS3_GAME

When Reload XMB is installed, webMAN uses the debug icon mentioned above to launch the application.

Some users/modders think that this icon is useless and remove it from category_game.xml causing issues to webMAN MOD.

If the issue persists, I suggest to remove the application "Reload XMB"

Where can I find this icon? I haven't removed anything, or even opened category_game.xml

That icon is usually found under Game category on XMB.

This is usually removed by modders and some CFW developers....

I recommend to use (or reinstall) Rebug if your console is CFW compatible.

Thank you for the reply.

The only jailbreak items I have under "Game" are: Enable Hen, Package Manager, and webMAN Games. I'm running the latest PS3HEN. Should I use rebug or hen toolbox? Everything else seems to be working except webMAN sometimes not displaying PKG/ content of the NTFS drive after refresh. Sometimes it does after hitting "Refresh games", sometimes after running "prepNTFS". I thought reload xmb might be the temporary fix.

PKG/Rom Launcher is similarly not working but after black screen it does return to the XMB. I transferred the games to ROMS/SNES, ROMS/GBA in the .sfc and .gba format. When I press triagle on it the " ★ Check" is greyed out.

Reload XMB is used only for auto-refresh of XMB.

If it's causing issues, I recommend to remove that application. I only use CFW (Rebug 4.84.2), so I'm not sure about the issues on PS3HEN. I recommend you that ask in PSX-PLACE to the people that support PS3HEN.

The prepNTFS auto-refreshes the XMB, so it doesn't need the Reload XMB.

I recommend to disable the option "Scan for content at startup" in /setup.ps3 to prevent many issues with the game list.

PKG/Rom Launcher requires that you have the latest version of RetroArch installed. Otherwise it will not launch the ROMs..

I installed the latest RetroArch [CEX] which seems to have solved the issue. It's working perfectly, now. PKG/Rom still giving me the black screen which might be related to the PS3HEN exploit.

As I mentioned earlier, I don't use PS3HEN... So I cannot offer support for that payload.

One thing is for sure, PS3HEN must be enabled.

Also PKG/ROM Launcher should not be executed directly. It is launched by webMAN MOD
