To keep an eye out on the temperature around the submarine.

There will need to be temperature sensors on;

Roboard
PC
Router
Motor Driver 1 & 2
2 Internal ambient air

If you use thermistors and screened (shielded) cable you'll probably get away with using one DsPIC to read in all those sensors.

0.5 degree Celsius resolution should be achievable.

Yeh it probably will, I just put it on their because the Roboard, which is a PC strictly speaking, doesn't have one. Or rather it doesn't work with Linux, I can't remember.
