The certificate problem has been understood (the ggus issue is closed). The problem will be completely resolved when fermilab updates xrootd server. Current workaround is using personal certificate.
One can now open eos file at UCSD.
Another issue at this site is performance openning files through xrootd. The trigger table is calculating an average value of trigger results through all events in the data file and this makes the first event display client connection very slow.
Fermilab xrootd server do not accept certificate from UCSD server.
The issue has not been fixed by Fermilab support since January: https://ggus.eu/index.php?mode=ticket_info&ticket_id=155531
User certificate is a possible workaround, but caching of data is not possible in this case.
