I am not entirely sure what treat as brand here - is this kind of POI also welcome?

What is done at these locations? Do Polish residents turn up to a reception and lodge paperwork, sit down for meetings with tax officials, etc? Or these locations are just office buildings that Polish tax officials attend to do their jobs?

office=tax_advisor, office=accountant and office=government are all possibilities. It's likely that operator= and operator:wikidata= should be used here instead of brand= and brand:wikidata=.

Typically all of those, though some may do subset of that tasks. Sadly AFAIK in all cases these get office=government government=tax anyway and there is no real distinction (except opening_hours indicating that it is likely open for walkins).

office=accountant - I would expect it for someone hired to do taxes for you, not for government employee

office=tax_advisor - the same, though it would be rather explaining taxes (office=government government=tax employee may explain taxes, also n specific case but this typically stops short of "and we can confirm that these rules are applicable in your case")

BTW, https://maproulette.org/browse/challenges/37224 was doing something with this data. There may or may not be, useful or not useful, code used to create it. Have not yet tried to contact person running it.

(in general https://dane.gov.pl/pl has humongous piles of datasets like this, some at least useful for ATP and some at least in public domain - though I will not create issues for them, unless me or someone else will process nearly all spider ideas I created)

Thanks! In Australia there are no tax offices that the public walks into. Tax affairs are all done electronically via Internet, mail and phone.

It sounds as if these Polish tax offices are just for collection and lodgement of paper forms relating to taxes?

I have on my TODO list a similar situation in Australia with https://github.com/alltheplaces/alltheplaces/issues/8490 which is an office people attend to collect and lodge paper forms relating to vehicle licensing and get their photo taken and whatever else. That's diminishing however and these types of government offices are now rare to find in Australia.

Some other spiders I've added previously such as nsw_ambulance_au, nsw_rural_fire_service_au and nsw_state_emergency_service_au already use office=government for some non-public-access back office buildings. These all use operator rather than brand tags (a change I introduced last year to ATP was initial support and spiders for operator style features that NSI uses extensively).

There is heaps more I want to do in the operator space such as utilities--substation locations, water pump station locations, etc are often included in public datasets. This data is quite useful to OSM which has a large contingent of volunteers focused on mapping infrastructure (openinframap style). ATP already knows about a lot of other operator style features, particularly a city in Switzerland that ATP knows the location of every lamp post within!

not only, you can also end going there to explain what went wrong with your forms or to get some information about taxes (technically not tax advise)

they likely also do some auditing/control there

Poland is also moving there, though today I almost ended going there to file on paper as web form was down

particularly a city in Switzerland that ATP knows the location of every lamp post within!

I was just excluding these from my OSM-ATP matcher (#6787) :)

And some cities have public tree datasets (Hamburg at least)
