Just wanted to day a huge thanks for this

its (..again) exactly what i have been looking for in years :)

i can also report it plays nice (so far) with bookmark+

Cool, thanks for the kind words. :) I was glad to be able to make a package that provides what seems like missing functionality. It's good to know that other people are finding it useful. Maybe I'll see if the Org folks want to integrate it...

I also quite like org-bookmark-heading, thank you for sharing it! It would be nice if it could be integrated, at least in the contrib section.

@priyadarshan Thanks. :) Yeah, I'll have to ask on the mailing list about it, I guess. I might have to do the FSF assignment papers first, although they might want to just reimplement it themselves, we'll see...

any news on integrating it into org? i think it would be a great contribution :D i use it daily and love it to death ;-)

Hey Z, I haven't been doing much software stuff over the summer, so I haven't asked the Org folks about it yet. Might get around to it in a few weeks...

Ah, little update I guess: I asked about it on the mailing list, and the maintainers are receptive to the idea, with a few minor changes, like pulling out the Helm-specific code. I plan to submit it sometime in the future. I think I'll go ahead and commandeer this bug to track this idea. :)

After enjoying the power of Org-mode for a few months, I again found out the usefulness of bookmark (finally). To my astonishment, bookmark by default does not support org headings? No way, not like this in Emacs community, there must be some sort of rescue. And behold! Under a familiar name's repo, with the only issue being not integrated into Org yet.. This must be the one I'm looking for, and yay, indeed it is.

Hope this gets integrated in Org soon!

Just adding my support to the proposal to integrate this into mainline so more users could benefit from this functionality. Thanks for the package!

For future reference: the org-bookmark library is no longer part of org-contrib. Not that it matters, necessarily, for this package, but anyway... I hope to try to upstream this library soonish. Should probably try to get through the remaining issues on the repo first.
