Hello !
I've got exactly the same issue ! I don't know how I can fixe it.
Hi
I fixed the problem by reloading the operating system. Previously I loaded it via NOOBS but the second time I loaded it exactly as the instructions and the Splash screen then worked fine.

I will try this. But I already set the OS via the image and Balena Etcher
I know this thread is old, but I had the same problem. But I've got it working by leaving "--no-autostart " out. Now everything is working like a charm.
Big thanks to the Author of this skript!
Thanks for the hack. And thanks for the great software!

Legend! Thanks for sharing this, worked for me too.
My unit works exactly as expected but I can't get the splash screen to work. I have the resolution just as my Raspberry Pi says it should be. I can display the image using fbi command. I have checked and double checked my .bashrc file. Any suggestions would be very welcome.
