We should normalize our tenses; I struggle with this in my writing.
I think our tone is formal enough, none of us are lawyers so we shouldn't expect to reach the level of R3...unless anyone thinks that's important to achieve.
I've read through the entire thing, and tidied up the tense agreement and some punctuation. I tried to consistently refer to flattenedFauna in the first reference of a section, and fF after that. I generally removed "the Repository" in favor of some form of fF. When referring to the repository, I uncapitalized it.

All examples of text to be created by user should be formatted as
