When using AmnesiaVPN, audio does not pass through the SIP protocol, and voice calls in instant messengers do not work.

Available::

  1. VPS Ubuntu 20.04.
  2. Install Amnezia client 4.0.8 on Android 13 device.
  3. Install Amnezia server 4.0.8 using Amnezia-WG.
  4. Connect Amnezia client to Amnezia server.
  5. Launching the Zoiper program for SIP calls on an Android 13 smartphone.
  6. Zoiper registers on the SIP server, calls a mobile phone, the call is received but there is no audio.
  7. We launch WhatsApp on a smartphone, call another smartphone, there is a call signal, we pick up the phone - there is no audio.

Same Issue here almost 1 year later using both Amnezia-WG and OpenVPN over Cloak.

  1. Server Ubuntu V22.04
  2. Install Amnezia client and server V4.6.0.3
  3. Connect Amnezia client app to Amnezia server using either the Amnezia-WG or OPenVPN over Cloak protocols.
  4. Launching the Zoiper VOIP program for SIP calls on an Android 13 smartphone.
  5. Zoiper registers on the SIP server. Then incoming call, the call is received but there is no audio. Note1: the Amnezia Server is behind a NAT firewall on a local network, with the necessary incoming ports for Amnezia-WG and OpenVPN forwarded to the Amnezia server (in case that should make a difference). All regular connections (RDP, Internet, webbrowsing, etc) work fine via those VPN connections. Note2: If connection is made via regular Wireguard or OpenVPN (both installed on the same phone) using the offical Wireguard and OpenVPN Android clients, then Audio is received fine. In this scenario, the Wireguard and OpenVPN servers are installed on the router directly, not behind a NAT, but use the same WAN/Internet connection (same service provider)
