I don't have Plex so cannot repro this myself. Does the same scenario work ok from the Desktop app?
I hadn't tried the Windows desktop app for this but gave it a go and it didn't even play one song in a playlist. It seemed to try the first 5 tunes and then give up completely. For each there was a brief flash of an error message: "Unable to play [tune] - unable to connect to Plex".
In the desktop app, I removed and reauthorized Plex successfully and retried, with the same results. On a whim I tried playing an album rather than a playlist, with the same results.
I then went back to the Android app and retried. The first song played successfully, and this was shown in the desktop app UI. Surprisingly, the second song also played. After this song, no other songs were played. The desktop UI did not show any error messages, nor did the Android app.
If interested, I can send you an invite to access the music on my Plex server; I would just need an email. We can communicate on the side in some fashion (perhaps Sonos community messages) if you'd like to pursue this.
For some time, I could not get Plex playlists to play at all. I would revisit this every few weeks, and recently I was surprised to see that I could play a Plex playlist. However, playback ends without error after the first song and does not continue. I have tried removing and reauthorizing Plex as a music service, without success.
I am using the Android app. My Plex server runs on a Windows 10 machine on my home network. This server is accessible outside the home via PlexAmp, etc. The music library it points to is on a Synology NAS on my home network. This music library is also the library that Sonos points to.
