Rom List doesn't work with Touch Overlay disabled using Custom Rom Path #104

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Change to a custom rom location
2. Turn OFF Landscape and Portrait overlays
3. Exit MAME.
4. Reload MAME.
5. Touch screen. No rom list appears, only menu.

NOTE: If you go into OPTIONS and turn the overlays BACK ON ... the rom list
will appear -- so it is definitely a glitch.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

ROM LIST will appear without enabling overlays.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

This occurs in 1.4.1 and 1.5.x .. any build that accepts custom ROM paths.
This is on an Asus Transformer 3.2 latest build.

Please provide any additional information below.

Fully reproducable. Will troubleshoot, test builds, shoot video - **whatever**
it takes to get this fixed.

Ok. I watched the video....

Hide touch controller is thinked to use an external controller... That's mean
you need a bluetooth keyboard, wiitmote, icade, etc to send input data... If
not, you need to activate the touch controls to play games...

Do the following...

Go to options and define back (android touch button) as player 1 B button (we
are defining a phisical button)... Now hide overlay and press back several
times where you think nothing happens...

Confirmed. When MAME loads without the overlay on, you must press whatever is
mapped to B.

It is a bit unintuitive (probably should at least be documented somewhere other
than here).

But, I consider the issue closed for now.

Thank you.
