Hello Anfit.

I have posted on the GC forums but think this may be an easier way to get in touch with you regarding the mod.

It is regarding the fleet builder and the lack of a dynamically updating ship stack PR in any of the ships when you click on them to build. In the old version, or when you don't enable the optional Shipbuilder, you see what say 300 Broadswords are worth in PR at a glance. Now with the new shipbuilder, to see what the PR is of 300 broadswords, you have to scroll down and find them in amongst your stack of ship you already have built and/or are building.

This doesn't save time but costs it which is a very bad then when out fighting as everything has to be fast, or your dead. That simple.

Now my suggestion or request would be this:

Remove the Hull, Upkeep and Damage parts on the screen. They are all useless. The damage doubly so due to it not showing the damage type spread (Energy, Kinetic, Missile, Chemical) and just showing a number that gets very big very rapidly with larger stacks, but this applies to the other 2 ones too.

Now this will both unclutter the screen with mostly useless info and allow room for a Dynamically updating Power Rating for the stack your building, in the row of the ship your building. This is the MAIN strength of the older ship builder (the one active if you deselect the 'new and improved' ship builder in options). It allowed you to be able to get ships built to be within say 500 PR without having to constantly scroll down and back up to modify it (which you have to do currently).

If you REALLY want to keep the cluttering bits of info as an option (hull/upkeep/damage) have it as a sub option in the ship builder option so it's there for people that want it or hell have a 'show dynamic upkeep' option there and a 'show extra ship information' there with enables/disables teh damage/hull/upkeep slabs of numbers. Also forgot scanner, who SERIOUSLY needs to know the scanner rating of their fleet? It's a useless bit of info (if you need scanner you just build 30/45 turns of scouts and go nuts...or how every many turns needed).

I just much prefer a nice clean and clear work place to build my fleets, the current one is god aweful for being way too messy and having things shown that really have no place to be there, and things shown in awkward places.

Don;t get me wrong, I love the mod you have done and have used it since it came out, but the current one for fleet building is just bad.

Failing fixing up and cleaning up the optional fleet builder, could you make the 'basic' ship builder be able to dynamically update like the new messy one can? If you could simply do that I would be VERY happy as it just shows all I want to know, and no other bullshit or extra crap that's not needed when blowing space ships up.

Now that's a good request - up to the point and concise. I'll hope I'll be able to code that soon.

well I wouldn't call it to the point or concise, but I hope you know what I ment, without being too offended with what I said about the info presented currently.

Also the shipbuilder I was refering to was the one in the 3.14, I accidentally had both that and the current one running at the same time with suprisingly no clashes thus far (3.14 is now turned off however).

Hopefully if you do give this a shot, it wouldn't be too much work.

Another thing I just noticed. The chat highligher doesn't seem to highlight actual posters names. Is it possible to do that with it in it's current incarnation? If not, would it be possible to be done? I just can't seem to get it to work out that's all.

Final edit:

Would an addon be able to modify the scale of text on just the GC pages also? I just got a bigger screen and it's now tiny text, but all other sites are fine.
