Here are materials for the first task - to read introductory chapters. These are theses of my different students (+ me :D) There are all kinds of levels - bachelor, master and phd (also some intermediate theses). Structurally the one from Vlad will be the closest to yours but we will luckily have limit 50 pages. The others are focused on different topics within SNEMO. You can observe how they all write"the same things" in general but they each stress (i.e. explain in deeper detail) the issues which are the most relevant to the particular problem they were solving.
