My wife is severely disabled after a stroke. I wrote for her some special
applications that she uses on a Windows tablet PC.
(Information in Dutch: http://johan.vromans.org/software/isis/)
I want to switch to an Android tablet (Archos 10.1IT). I currently do not have
the time and energy to rewrite these applications for Android. I run them on a
Linux VNCserver and my wife can use them on the tablet through VNCviewer.
My wife is computer-illiterate so everything must go as smoothly as possible.
She can touch an icon to start the viewer but she is not capable of changing
settings.
I currently encounter two problems that I hope you may be able to solve.
1. When resuming the tablet from standbye, VNCviewer gives an error since it
takes a couple of seconds for the WiFi to become active. It would be nice if I
could instruct VNCviewer to wait a limited time (e.g., 5 secs) for the
connection to be restored.
2. For the application to function, VNCviewer must use an input method that
turns a screen-touch into a mouseclick at that position. "Mouse Pointer Control
Mode" is fine. However, VNCviewer does not (always?) seem to save the input
method with the session. Sometimes when restarted it uses the default input
method again.
Thanks for your time and patience.
