Question: Can we integrate Kotlin with Royal instead of As3? #347

Kotlin seems to be popular, I am not surprised the language is extremely wonderfull, I also developed some App with ActionScript it is also great, but it is inspired from Java and may have the same boiler plate, I hope that we can add Koltin to Royal maybe some new developers will be seduced by the idea and the framework.

Hi Maher, adding more languages is possible. We talk as well about add TypeScript. But I think all current people in Royale is very busy with current tasks and completing current goals. So no plan fo this at the moment and seems the first request about Kotlin.

If you want to add Kotlin, please open a discuss thread in the apache dev mailing list to expose pros and cons, so people could let you know about current interest.

As well, you'll need to work on that task to make it happen, and depending on your commitment and knowledge of the Apache contribution process you can earn committer status to work on that part.

It was an idea to make Royal more attractive, all front end technologie are trending with tree shaking, server side rendering and common language, developer would never learn something that could be really specific, I proposed kotlin because it is multiplateform and like that developer could have more job opportunity, if you don't have any common tool for royal (webpack, any common language, etc...) it will never attractive, even the Angular popularity make it less attractive for Dart version, because it is not a common language and it's difficult to have its own tools like webpack, kotlin it is really intuitive language and it may have bright future.
