Channel search API #292

Issue #259 handled filtering channels by type, but it only applies to channels to which the user is currently subscribed. I would like a way to search channels by type without the subscription limitation.

+1 A way to retrieve all channels a user can read/write created by a specific user would be good.

+1 would save us from having to create an additional channel for discovery
