Porting application to embedded NAS devices #132

Maybe its too early to ask.

But are you planning or have tested the linux version to run on an embedded
NAS device with any mini flavour of linux running. Any guide for it would
be appreciated.

I have Western Digital My Book World Edition which is a NAS device
connected to the router via Ethernet interface. It runs linux and makes the
internal 1Tb harddisk shares available to windows via samba. I have
installed another DLNA server little endian version which can be configured
via web interface.

Now i dont have to turn my PC on all the time to stream movies to PS3, just
the NAS device with embedded linux and DLNA server does the job.

Any such scenario can be built with this application ?

If the NAS can run java it should be able to run pms, but I'm guessing that
transcoding would be near impossible on a nas device.

yup, it's a bit early I think :)
and if it was done, like Cowmix said, do not expect to transcode anything with
a NAS
(except audio maybe)
