Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I start an --aur upgrade and later will be prompted to confirm my password to install a built package. If I don't, it times out, noting the saved package. If I run another --aur upgrade, the same package is downloaded and built, and if that install times out there will then be an error as it can't overwrite the saved existing package file even if you want it to.
